OMG Atelier is a Singapore-based architecture and design practice whose work extends into interior and exhibition design, as well as various creative and artistic spatial expressions. Each project, regardless of scale or scope, is an opportunity for the studio to explore the intricate and layered dimensions of the human experience.

Guided by a spirit of curiosity, OMGA moves beneath the surface of everyday life to understand essential needs, while examining and redefining what it means to live well. We adopt an approach that often invites the unexpected through experimentation with form, light, and materiality, kindling encounters of delight and shaping conditions for spaces to grow and evolve over time.

At the heart of the practice is the belief that ‘the house is a product, while the home is a process’. In our work, we aim not merely to complete projects, but to build relationships and honour the shared journey alongside clients and collaborators, from initial vision to the realisation of a space.

‘OMG’, a ubiquitous daily expression, was originally a spontaneous acronym for ‘Overseas Malaysian Gang’. In the spirit of fun, it may also stand for Open Minded Group, Outstandingly Marvellous Group, Only Meaningful Gang, One Mean Group, or Omega—a signifier of the studio’s drive to balance play and utility, create opportunities within challenges, and uncover wonder in the mundane.

Hui Lian is a registered architect, educator and artist who leads OMG Atelier. Known as the Only Malaysian Girl in the team, she received the Singapore Institute of Architects Young Architects Award (Honourable Mention) in 2024. With 14 years of architectural experience, she has built a diverse portfolio across residential, commercial, conservation, and institutional projects. In her practice, Hui Lian embraces a thoughtful approach that makes room for play and experimentation, continually redefining the philosophies and conditions that create enduring and liveable spaces.
